CURRICULUM
Maria Montessori had made a curriculum, which is mainly based on the inner requirements of the child which helps him to develop socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically at his own pace. The Montessori pre-primary curriculum consists of five areas of exercises- Practical Life, Sensorial Life, Language, Mathematics, Arts and Cultural.
This forms the basis for all the other activities in the class room. These activities are designed in such a way that helps the child to grow in motor skills, cognitive development, self confidence and development of personality. It prepares the child for life, rather than school.
MATHEMATIC
Arithmetic and Geometry are taught with the help of a wide variety of colourful materials which helps children to understand the abstract world of numbers, through concrete objects. The cultural area covers Botany, Zoology, Geography and History all experienced through Indoor Montessori Materials and Outdoor activities and trips.
LANGUAGE
Languages such as English, Malayalam, Hindi (Primary) are taught combines phonics, stories and language becomes interesting through the pink, blue & green languages series.
READING AREA
An attractive array of colourful and informative books makes reading interesting and helps to improve the reading the reading habits in children.
SENSORIAL
The sensorial materials are designed to offer young Children concrete experiences in comparing and classifying their environment. These materials isolate particular qualities such as shape, colour, texture, flavor, weight and offer the children keys for exploring the environment as they engage their attention with hands – on work.
